Well. Tonight i watch Blade Runner!
I also rented The Office Season 1.....i cant watch it on TV with all the advertisments.
I watched three episodes and am really enjoying it.
Steve Carrell is awesome.

Look forward to seeing what you thought of it!

Hope you like it, Wags. BR is one of my all-time favourite films. Rutger Hauer was fantastic.

Agreed,Kira...He was amazing...
How cool was all this?,Apart from the fake dove, obviously :D :D

Is there a collective term for fans of Blade Runner? We have X-Philes, Trekkies and such. Are BR are fans known as Runnerites or something?
Anyway, I've just gone and ordered a copy of the 5 disc set of this film. I've only ever seen it once, the director's cut, and it was almost 10 years ago. It was decent I suppose, I certainly didn't love it.
So, which of the seemingly countless versions available in this set will be the one to watch first and really convert me?

Or 'This Week's Cut' as some Hollywood wags were calling it...
I'd say the new 'Final Cut'...It's as definitive as Scott wants it (at the moment),the transfer is nothing short of breathtaking, and a lot of stuff has been 'cleaned up'...
I've always thought this film was a masterpiece.Even the 'voiceover' version that originally came out...
I'm actually surprised there are people on here who don't rate it...it's the first time in over 20 years I've come across anyone who dislikes it...

I agree with cuch - definitely the Final Cut. It's a sparklingly clear picture. The International Version might be of interest as it's essentially the Theatrical Cut, but with the violence the US audiences were denied. I can't really see what they'd change about the Final Cut. The only thing I'd have loved to see was the 4 hour cut that is mentioned in Dangerous Days! How awesome would that be?!
A lot can happen in 10 years, gimli ;) Plus the documentary is phenomenal. Even folk like Frank Darabont and Guillermo Del Toro are interviewed, which adds nicely.

Final Cut it is then. Thanks guys.
If I'm honest though, I'm actually looking forward to the special features more than the film. The big Ridley Scott discs always have excellent extras.

They do indeed. And he's always good value on the commentaries, which I still have to look forward to!
And in answer to your previous question, maybe 'Replicants' is a good collective noun :D Or 'skinjobs' heh heh.

Replicants. I quite like that.
I love his commentary for Gladiator when he moans about historians complaining the film isn't accurate :D
When I've seen the film I might be asking for advice regarding the 3 disc soundtrack.
Homer- 12-30-2007
Got that for Christmas too! Got to upload it to my MP3 player and give it a listen still. I don't get many CDs these days, what with iTunes at all, but this one had to be bought (albeit not by me!) to put next to my briefcase! I'll let you know once I've listened to it.

I'd love to see the 4 Hour Cut too, but that would be harder to watch than the Workprint shown to -*test*-('") audiences in 1981/1982.

I was watching my Blade Runner DVD over the past fews days, I LOVE the Dangerous Days Documentary, (3 1/2 hours!!), but despite a great film coming from it, it pains me so much that Ridley Scott was treat like ABSOLUTE SHIT by the American crews, it being his first film made in Hollywood, and he couldn't use a British crew, due to unions. Plus, it reached a head with the T-Shirt wars. "Yes Guvnor, my ass!!" Vs. "Xenophobia Sucks".
So, for anyone wanting to make a film in America, be careful... :-|
