CLOUD ATLAS - KWBC Discussion Thread (anyone can join in!)
As it states, a discussion thread for anyone who has read Cloud Atlas, either as part of the KW Book Cycle, or separately. I suggested this to Pix to send as I'd read it and think it is quite brilliant, and I'm sure I missed a lot of depth to the book. Anyway, those who have read it, what did you think?

I loved it, some of the stories were a bit weak but in the context of the whole novel, they work brilliantly. I loved the way different types of language are used to portray different times and cultures

I really must get round to reading this. I bought it a while ago (after seeing your recommendation, Homer!)

Lol, thats how I ended up buying it, because of Homer, he also got me into Consider Phlebas as well, a fantastic book.

I bought it about 2 and a half years back but I still haven't read it yet!

OK,I don't want this to seem like spamming but I've never heard of this book and I have no idea what it's about...

It's one of the book cycle books Cuch, and in fact it's coming to you next, so surely you've at least heard of it?!
I really like Cloud Atlas, it was a little bit different and I enjoyed the different strands of storylines. Some more than others though, I was a little bored by the first one, and it took me a while to get into it.
It's an extrenely cleverly written book, I noticed it more on my second read (I'd already read it when it arrived from the book cycle) but there are quite a few subtle links between the stories and they all seems to form a coherent whole, despite being quite disparate stories at first glance.
Cuchulainn- 05-29-2008
Er...yes,of course I have...

I'll look forward to reading that one, if it makes it through the Cuch-book-force-field. ;)
