Aura made me watch it on Sunday. I fell asleep.

Electric Sheep- 07-09-2008

For anyone who didn't see them (except Bubs who will probably be asleep again) or wants to see them again (except Bubs who will probably be asleep again), The Stolen Earth and Journey's End are being repeated back to back on BBC1 this Sunday evening.

Electric Sheep- 07-10-2008

After rewatching both The Stolen Earth and Journey's End last night, I have to say that my reaction to the latter has mellowed slightly. I still don't think it's all that it could have been and I stand by my comments regarding the very contrived Rose on a beach scene but other than that I think it has its merits and that closer scrutiny improves it a bit (I missed some of the finer points in the dialogue originally). Maybe I was a little harsh in my initial reaction.

I read this earlier on Wikipedia, I'm not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing. "The programme will return in 2010 with a fifth full series. For this fifth series, Russell T Davies will be replaced as head writer and executive producer by Steven Moffat. Tennant, who has played the main character of the show for the past three series, stated on The Andrew Marr Show in June 2008 that he hasn't yet been asked to reprise the role for the fifth series, but he will consider it if asked. By July 2008, Russell T Davies said in The Guardian that Tennant had made his decision and the BBC knew what it was"

Whilst we wait for the Christmas Special, I have a couple of tidbits of news for you. Steven Moffat has said there'll be new monsters. As a result of Moffat taking over from RTD, he's had to step down from writing Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson's Tintin.

DOCTOR Who is to face a new evil menace — a mutant Cyberman. Bosses of the hit BBC1 sci-fi drama plan to unleash the scary mutant in this year’s Christmas special. Cybershade is described as “Cyberman gone bad”. An insider said: “Like we did with the Daleks, we’ve taken the original robot and made it a bit more sinister. “The Cybershade is a mutant with some of the looks of the Cybermen — but it is a much darker creation. “Fans always want something new. “Just wheeling out Cybermen again would be tame.” New show chief Stephen Moffat has promised a host of new baddies for four Who specials. He stressed: “We’re not in the business of being nostalgic — we’re making nostalgia for the future.”

Right I've finally managed to see Journey's End! Jimbob, you're a darling for sending me the disc but I couldn't get it to play properly, I only got the audio track and not the visual, so I had to wait until I got back from Cornwall to watch in on youtube. Mr KB was relieved though, that I couldn't make him watch it. :P Anyways, I do sort of agree with what everyone has been saying. I didn't like what they did to Donna, it was crueller than death. I don't see it as a cop out at all, to be honest, death would have been a far kinder and more fitting tribute to such a fantastic companion. She was awesome when she became Dr Donna, I thought that was ace, and I cried when he wiped her mind because it was so unfair. I wasn't the grea-*test*-('") fan of what they did to Rose and the weird hybridy Doctor thing, but it did make me feels sad for the Doctor himself, because Rose got the man she loved, but he still has no-one. I agree they shouldn't have said one will die if one wasn't going to, but there was still considerable sadness and pathos in the endings, for me anyway. Admittedly that's likely because I'm probably the soppiest and most emotionally retarded person here by miles! The German Daleks were great. I want a German Dalek. :D

Electric Sheep- 08-03-2008

I wonder if you lived in Germany and bought a remote control Dalek, would it speak all it's phrases in German?

Donald McKinney- 08-03-2008

I wonder if you lived in Germany and bought a remote control Dalek, would it speak all it's phrases in German? I wonder that, but that clip does raise a good point, all this time we've seen them, they speak English, but what about other countries?? They wouldn't speak English to Germans, they'd be confused. :P

K.B. Flumpet- 08-03-2008

But they didn't, did they? They spoke German to the Germans, and therefore one assumes they can speak the language of whichever country they're in. Leccy, I am now tempted to order a Dalek from a German company and see if it speaks to me in German. If only I had money. :P

dragonfall- 08-05-2008

But they didn't, did they? They spoke German to the Germans, and therefore one assumes they can speak the language of whichever country they're in. I think they just log on to Microsoft and download one of them language packs. Sorry the copy didn't work by the way. It was fine on mine. I think you might have needed to download a codec to run it.

K.B. Flumpet- 08-05-2008

Yeah I probably could have made it work if I was at home but I was on a campsite so I didn't have internet. It doesn't matter, I saw it in the end, and I very much appreciate you sending it anyway!! :D Dalek's wouldn't be nearly so efficient if they were reliant on Microsoft packs for anything!

dragonfall- 08-05-2008

Could explain why the Doctor always manages to beat them

K.B. Flumpet- 08-05-2008

That said, I regularly lose battles with Word and Excel so they can put up a decent fight! Mind you, I'm not a Time Lord. Sadly.

PrincessAura- 08-05-2008

I didn't manage to grow up to be The Doctor either KB. Mind you, I didn't even make it to companion level either. Damn this whole fantasy nonsense, it should be real damnit!
