I'm not a Star Trek fan but im getting a little excited about this Star Trek reload Check the cast Captain Kirk - Chris Pine Past Credits include - Smoikin Aces and Just My Luck Spock- Zachary Quinto Past Credits include Heroes and 24 Scotty- Simon Pegg Past Credits include Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Run Fatboy Run Pavel Chekov - Anton Yelchin Past Credits include Alpha Dog and huff Cmdr. Uhura - Zoe Saldana Past credits include POTC, Terminal, Guess Who and so to be seen in James Camerons Avatar. Also Eric Bana has been cast as Nero

Hmmm. I'm not sure. I think Enterprise showed how badly prequels can go wrong. I'll still go and see it though. The last rumour I heard is that Nimoy is going to make an appearance as Spock. Hadn't heard Simon Pegg was in it. Is that confirmed.

Yep Chris Pine was the last to be confirmed today I think it could work after what has happened with Doctor Who. Its also rumoured that Tom Cruise will make as the captain of the Enterprise before Kirk

It has been confirmed that Karl Urban will play Leonard "Bones" McCoy, the Starship's Enterprise's medical officer

I'm not a fan of Star Trek, at all. But, it would appear this reboot will attract non-fans. I like the idea of Simon Pegg playing Scotty, he should play it like Tim Bisley from Spaced, now THAT would be funny!! :P

Paramount Pictures and director J.J. Abrams have set Winona Ryder to play the mother of a young Spock (Zachary Quinto) in Star Trek. Written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the film revolves around the Starfleet Academy days of the crew of the Starship Enterprise. Ryder joins a cast that also includes Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, and Rachel Nichols. Star Trek is scheduled for a Christmas Day 2008 release date.

First look at 'new' Enterprise...

To be fair, we know what it looks like. It's not like they can change the design so don't see the point in just giving us half a glimpse at it. Wonder who the captain is going to be.
