Heart-Shaped Box - Joe Hill

I stopped with Casino Royale. Not because I didn't like it, as I did like the 17 pages I read. I've said before that I never set aside time for reading, and it was almost a week since I first read a few minutes until I picked it up again, and I just wasn't in the mood anymore. Almost halfway though this one though, and I like it a great deal.

I blasted through Girl With A Pearl Earring. Fantastic, one of the best books I've read in years and one of the very, very few instances when I've noticed a noticeable gulf between book and film. I tend not to compare really, but the difference here was obvious. Couldn't help but picture Colin Firth as Vermeer though (but he was the best thing about the film anyway). It's fascinating that such beautiful fictional backstory could be given to a painting.

The Fortress of Solitude - Jonathan Lethem

I'm not even a fan of the Stones, but the couple of times I saw Woody being interviewed about this over Xmas convinced me to buy it. And it's a great read too - he's led one hell of a life!
