I brought Consider Phlebas on your recommendation Homer, so it'd better be good  :D

Neverwhere! Good choice Bobatim! I have the graphic novel of that. Fantastic story. You'll never look at the London Underground in the same light again.
Didn't buy it but a late Christmas present from Aeon
And a birthday present that I was naughty and opened.

Went through a phase of reading all of the Dirk Pitt novels. Great action books.
Sahara the film is an entertaining bit of fluff, but they destroyed the characters - especially the dark-haired muscular Al Giordano. I think Steve Zahn is a great comic actor, but he was completely wrong for the part!

I think the film is fine entertainment, it'll be interesting to see how it compares to the book.
I bought this one out of curiosity more than anythig else. It's not a subject that greatly interests me and while I don't believe in God, I also don't think it's right to go around telling people who do that they are wrong, and I've been given the impression that that's mainly what this book is about.
I also bought the novelisation of the film, Colors and the hardcover version of Girl With A Pearl Earring. I own and have just read the paperback, but this has lots of nice pretty pictures and some background notes by the author.

That Iain M Banks book was sitting on my coffee table yesterday, I don't know which of my housemates bought it but I think I'll be borrowing it when they're done.
Technically these two were bought for me, but either way I now have them...
The first one is the first book in a series of historical crime novels, they're incredibly gripping reads. I accidentally read the second two before getting hold of the first but no matter!
The second book I've been resisting buying for myself for weeks, so I'm very excited to read it! Looks awesome. :D
