Got this today: For those of you unfamiliar with Mr Everett, he is perhaps better known as E, singer/songwriter with Eels, a man described by Rolling Stone Magazine as "the Kurt Vonnegut of rock". Its a book about life lessons he learned growing up with an eccentric scientist for a father (his dad was the originator of the parallel universe theory fact fans!), and how he came to terms with the suicide of his sister and death of his mother. All interspersed with tales of life in the music business, it's looking like one of those books which i'll be returning to again and again. Excellent stuff indeed. Oh, and Homer, the new Banks is great!

Now that looks interesting. Any chance I could borrow it from you once you're finished? I'm about to start Night Watch and there should be the next wave of the Book Cycle coming soon so there's no rush.

No probs, I'll bring it over to Cardiff with me :)

Cool! Hope nobody minds me ignoring them while I get tucked into it!

Gimli, is that the version with the photos in it, and if so, wasn't Pacino's portrayal of Lefty uncannily accurate? I couldn't believe it when I saw the photo - I thought I was looking at a still from the movie.

Nope, no pictures. I have seen a picture in the past though and I know what you mean.

Sharky - I have some way to go before I get round to reading that one. At last check, I was still on Feersum Endjinn! These pesky English degree course books I have to read keep getting in the way. I might pick it up with some playtrade funds tho, to coerce myself into reading it once I finish my exams this year!

Damo bought me this biography for Valentines Day

Bought this a while ago after seeing it in the 'books everyone must read' thread and forgot to mention it...

Well done Jimbo. It is, in my opinion of course, simply the best book ever written.

Ooh! I've read Out by Natsuo Kirino. Pretty graphic! You'll have to let me know what you think of Grotesque.
