The Shining - My sixth Kubrick, yet another one I didn't like... seriously unimpressed. Full of the usual useless, dragging shots that barely contribute to the story. I only liked one scene, the maze scene at the end in which I witnessed perhaps the only cunning and intelligent escape from a killer in horror history... by a child.

I do love Kubrick, I loathe this film.

The Devil Rides Out (1968), probabily the best film Hammer ever produced, this tale revolves around a Devil worshipping cult led by Mocata (Charles Gray), and they have Simon (Patrick Mower, later Rodney Blackstock in Emmerdale :P), who is a young friend of Duke of Richeleau (Christopher Lee), who has an acquired knowledge of the dangers of the dark arts, and he might be as powerful as the Devil himself. A very creepy and surprising film, although some of the special effects have dated badly, it's still a great pleasure to watch, and does emit some shocks. 5/5

Do you like Kubrick otherwise,Aeon? I guess not from the 'yet another one I didn't like' phrase... I just don't understand this anti-Kubrick vibe here... Philistines... :D

I liked A Clockwork Orange and I haven't seen Dr Strangelove which I'm guessing I'll like because I adore Peter Sellers. I also think I'll like Full Metal Jacket when I see it. My Kubrick tally otherwise: Lolita - didn't like it, saw it when I was 15 and I just didn't like it. Eyes Wide Shut - SHIT! 2 hours of Cruise horneying around for a shag... whatever... Barry Lyndon - boring as f*** but loved the music. 2001 - not worth the wait for the pretty lights. Sorry to bring this thread off topic, folks!

I've been on a total nostalgia trip today after watching the top 100 grea-*test*-('") 80's films on TV last night. Happily Back to the Future was at Number 1 (Yay! Wooo hooooo, Huzzah!) which put me in a total Michael J Fox mood, so today I have watched Back to the Future and Teen Wolf  Takes me back to being a child in the mid 80's and my first crush was on Michael J Fox

Just so that I can relive my crushes on both Fox and Bateman.
