The Accidental Husband - Better than average romcom. The cast are clearly enjoying themselves, especially Uma. I reckon she always preferred Janine Garofalo's role in The Truth About Cats And Dogs and now she gets to play a variation of it. I can think of far worse ways to spend a couple of hours. Worth catching, especially on dvd.
U2 3D - Great concert, great music, but a rather pointless exercise otherwise as the 3D adds nothing to it. You even have to endure people blocking your view just like a real gig. Disappointing.
Semi-Pro - So-so comedy that has its moments, but ultimately is wanting. One to watch on dvd.
Utterly devastating...
5/5.
Best cop movie ever.
5/5.
Watched this on Film4 last night and wasn't sure if it was going to be for me.I have to say I thought it was excellent and no wonder Imelda got that BAFTA and the Oscar nomination she was outstanding.
4/5
Diary Of The Dead - Far better than expected. As is the fashion these days, disaster strikes and what do we do? We record it and survival takes second place. Still, it manages to be entertaining and provides the obligatory jumps. Nice one, Romero!
Vantage Point - Interesting thriller and when I say interesting I mean it isn't really a thriller. A flawed movie because it doesn't really know what it is. An assassination atempt viewed from several perspectives with no real conclusion as to what the hell happened. I was looking forward to this one and I left disappointed. Could have and should have been so much better.
Ok but its not anything new as it's already been done with Zombie Diaries. Romero still hasn't been able to get near the grea-*test*-('") of Dawn of the Dead which is shame. Loved the Amish farmer guy who stood out in this above the other actors. Also its good to see the slow arsed zombies back

Vantage Point
Surprisingly very good. It slowly draws you in with its eight different viewpoints and the way it unravels. The last 20mins are explosive and heart-pounding. Great performances from Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox and the always excellent Forest Whitaker
8/10
The Other Boleyn Girl - Hmm, two Americans playing English women... I was wondering if they could pull it off. Johansson does and they both do it quite well and Portman manages to be rather less wooden than usual. As good as Eric Bana's performance is, they might as well have cast Will Smith to play Henry VIII as far as resemblances go.
The rest of the cast is basically a spot that familiar face and unfortunately no one really stands out.
The film's okay and entertaining but nothing more.
Scarlet Johansson and Natalie Portman were excellent as the Boleyn sisters while Eric Banana (could have dye his hair red) was just plain poor and didn't seem very comfortable with the role but maybe that is just the way he is as he was the same in Hulk. Its very entertaining but inaccurate in historical detail
6/10

Classic crime caper that the remake doesn't get close too
