Hell I do, I fell asleep a few times during 10000 BC but it was hardly as awful as some films (Revolver, Commando, Titanic, Scary Movie 1) ;)

Screamy- 03-15-2008

You fell asleep and then gave it three :-|

Actually you'll see I changed my rating but 3 is hardly loving it, whilst it was a bit dull it didn't do anything wrong acting-wise, story-wise etc Anyway, we're slipping off topic :D

The Good Shepherd (1st view) – Atmospheric history of the CIA, with good performances from a star studded cast. It’s quite a slow burning film, it consists mainly of government types having secret meetings but it’s a good watch – 3/5 There Will Be Blood (1st view) – Excellent film from Paul Thomas Anderson. It doesn’t quite match his masterpiece Magnolia, but it’s not far behind, Daniel Day-Lewis is absolutely magnificent as Daniel Plainview, a truly horrible man who somehow manages to make us feel sympathetic towards him. He’s backed a great supporting cast, a terrific score and some genuinely amazing scenes – 5/5 Straightheads (1st view) Oh, Scully, what on Earth are you doing appearing in this tripe? A sordid, horrible mess, a revenge flick with no sense of morals, and Danny Dyer is just terrible - 2/5 Black Snake Moan (1st view) – A strangely affecting and heart-warming Deep South tale, as Samuel L. Jackson attempt so cure white trash Christina Ricci of the evil within her. Justin Timberlake pops up, but the two stars are the main attraction here – 4/5 Bridge To Terabithia (1st view) - Reasonable kids fantasy that deals with grown up issues, but it handles the sentiment awkwardly and with little tact or subtlety. The two main child stars are quite watchable, but everyone else in the film under the age of 20 made me want to switch off. American kids in films tend to just rub me up the wrong way. Thank god for Zooey Deschanel – 2/5 Vantage Point (1st view) – Hugely entertaining thriller that tells the story of a Presidential assassination attempt from different points of view. Sure enough, the structure of the film and constant replaying of events makes its difficult to get to know or care for the characters, and in he final stretch the timeline of events seems to go out the window, but this is all forgivable thanks to some slick direction and generally sound performances. Catch A Fire (1st view) – Tim Robbins and Derek Luke are both very god indeed in this the apartheid story. Luke is falsely accused of terrorism and the brutality he endures eventually makes him go against the system. It takes a while to get going and sometimes seems to stretch credibility but it’s worthwhile – 3/5 Run, Fatboy, Run (1st view) – Enjoyable comedy from David Schwimmer that stars Simon Pegg trying to win back the heart of the woman he jilted, Thandie Newton. To do so he enters a marathon, competing against her new boyfriend Hank Azaria. Never really laugh out loud funny, but constantly engaging – 3/5

Watership Down (1978), who said the British can't do animation?? This adaptation of Richard Adams' book proves that we can!! The story has a community of rabbits, including Hazel (John Hurt), Fiver, (Richard Briers) and Pipkin (Roy Kinnear). Fleeing their doomed warren and facing many dangers in an effort to try and find a new home. It's one of the darkest animated film ever made, it has moments of bloody violence which you can't believe was possible in a U-rated film. But, it's animation is beautiful, and it's got a good vocal cast, (also including Ralph Richardson, Denholm Elliott, Zero Mostel, Harry Andrews, Michael Hordern and Nigel Hawthorne.) A powerful and emotional film, only one problem, Art Garfunkel's Bright Eyes, it's as scary as the violence on show here!! :o 4/5

His Girl Friday - The best of all the screwball comedies. Fantastic, clever and articulate script from Hecht and Macarthur. Fantasic performances from Russel and Grantwith dialogue so quick you have to hear it two or three times for the true genius to sink in. Also Ralph Bellamy deserves a mention as the sap who gets arrested three times by Grant's stooges. If you have not seen this film what are you waiting for ? 10/10 Jumanji - Cracking kids film with a crossover appeal for adults. Good fun. 7/10

It's amazing to think that a lot of the dialogue was improvised by the cast. Hence the reference by Grant to 'Archie Leach'.

Kingdom Of Heaven Director's Cut An absolutely fantastic movie now that it's revealed in it's original conception... Among the very best Historical epics ever filmed...And in the Ridley Scott Top 5... OK,Bloom is still as wooden as Pinocchio's c**k but the supporting cast more than compensate for his shortcomings... An utterly mesmerizing film...Beautifully realized and well worth a re-appraisal if yo've only seen the rather hollow Theatrical version... 5/5.
