Horton Hears A Who - Dear Lordi, I think I lost the will to live watching this. Excrutiating viewing, I think I'll get my Dr Seuss fixes in book form from now on...

Horton Hears A Who - Dear Lordi, I think I lost the will to live watching this. Excrutiating viewing, I think I'll get my Dr Seuss fixes in book form from now on... I suspected this would be the case and decided to give it a miss. Anyway on to some quality animation Spirited Away A fantastic story. Absolutely mystified me in parts. But what a world to be transported to. Utterly fabulous. 9/10

Boogie Nights PTA's best film with loads of great performances from the like of Wahlberg, Graham, Moore, Hoffman and Reynolds . 9/10 Lars and the Real Girl A surprise, sweet, charming but very strange little Movie about a bloke played by Ryan Gosling and his sex doll . I did find gosling very overrated and out acted by the doll ( I'm sure ive seen her in other films like Sahara and Vanilla Sky :-o ) but the stand out was Gosling's brother played by Paul Schneider. 8/10

Madge- 03-23-2008

Finally got round to watching Stardust this morn with Miss Madge. I have to admit I has reservations but I have to say I enjoyed it a lot,I always stand back at films that have a tonne of hype, however in this case it was alright. Not going to set the world on fire and no character a paticular standout but enjoyable, and yes even Mr Gervais :P 3.5/5 I also thought Claire Danes is quite similiar looking to Franke Potente.

Why haven't I seen this film before now?!

dragonfall- 03-23-2008

I don't know. Have you been living in a cave? It's an absolutely fantastic film!!!!

El Orfanato aka The Orphanage Amazing, Creepy, atmospheric ghost story, probably the best horror film of the last five years and a film that I got goosebumps in. The 123 knock scene is one of the best scenes i've witnessed in a ghost film and you could feel the tension in the cinema. A horror masterpiece and a must see. 9/10

The Orphanage - The creepiest horror I've seen in a long time. Extremely effective, the director knows you've probably seen a fair few horrors beforehand and plays with when you're expecting a jump, delivers and then some. The script was excellent and the story was heartbreaking. The premise sounds like something you've seen a million times before and yet seemed truly original. I cannot recommend this film enough. Miss at your own peril.

Fucking hell, that was a great movie - and possibly the most downbeat ending I've seen coming out of Hollywood in years. Also, if you're in any way arachnophobic, beware! I think I'll start a petition to persuade King to demand all his adaptations are done by Darabont. The man is just obviously on the same wavelength. My only complaint was that it was all a bit reminiscent of Phantoms at times, but that in no way detracted from the effect. A brilliantly atmospheric horror- literally!

I don't know. Have you been living in a cave? It's an absolutely fantastic film!!!! It certainly is. Simply brilliant! Stuck On You (2nd view) – Surprisingly sweet and touching comedy from the Farrelly brothers, despite the subject matter. Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear are always watchable, and they do good work here – 3/5 10,000 B.C. (1st view) – A real mishmash of a film. Dodgy story and dialogue, effects that range from inspiring to laughable, often within the same frame, acting that goes from quite reasonable to horrendous. It’s all good fun though if you’re in the right frame of mind – 3/5 Blades Of Glory (1st view) – I’m not a fan of Will Ferrell, he usually makes me want to throw stuff at the TV but I actually quite liked both his performance and the film itself. It’s a slight film but has some good laughs, plus the legendary William Fichtner, and that can’t be bad – 3/5

The Departed Scorceses fine return to form, is a twisted tale of corruption on both sides of the law. A brilliant plot that twists and turns at every step. Full of great dialogue, humor and drama, as well as some awesome performances from Jack Nicholson, Leo the cappucino, Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg. 5/5
