Superman (1978), the first film of the legendary Superman series which has Christopher Reeve as the titular superhero. The first film in the series has alien Kal-El, sent to earth by Jor-El (Marlon Brando) from the dying planet Krypton, brought up by the Kent family to become Clark Kent whose secret identity is Superman, and uses his powers to help people, and to defeat criminal mastermind Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman). A wonderful superhero film, that makes you feel like a child again when you watch it, and yes, they make you believe a man CAN fly!! ;) 5/5
The Usual Suspects (1995), a powerful neo-noir thriller with plenty of twists abound. Told in flashback by Verbal Kint (Kevin Spacey), he tells of how he and 4 other partners in crime, Michael McManus (Stephen Baldwin), Dean Keaton (Gabriel Byrne), Todd Hockney, (Kevin Pollack) and Fred Fenster (Benicio Del Toro), were involved with a fire on a boat in San Pedro Harbour, which appeared to be the work of the mysterious Keyser Söze. A well-written and clever thriller with some brilliant performances, and the final twist will make you want to watch it again. Even from watching this, you wouldn't think director Bryan Singer would later move on to superhero films!! ;) 5/5

Superman II (1980), the sequel to the highly successful Superman, although both films were essentially Part 1 and Part 2 of an epic story. This has Superman (Christopher Reeve) facing up against 3 deadly villians from the planet Krypton. General Zod (Terence Stamp), Ursa (Sarah Douglas) and Non (Jack O'Halloran) released from their prison and heading to conquer Earth, but Superman/Clark Kent is already into a romance with Lois Lane (Margot Kidder), and has to choose between the woman he loves and his powers. A sequel almost as good as the original, with action and emotion abound, but this was infamous for Richard Donner being sacked from, and replaced by Richard Lester, causing a year long delay. 4/5

30 days of Night
Just got back and was disappointed by it. It had more wood in it than Nottingham Forest
Pretty average film as well. Harnett was very wooden but he was overtaken in teak effect by Ben Foster
6/10

30 Days of Night- Dark, gloomy, gory and scary... goes slow in the middle for a bit, but goes right for the jugular come the downbeat yet thrilling climax. Hartnett is weaker than usual, but still decent whilst Danny Huston is a scary baddie. Chilling and thrilling...

Mission : Impossible 3 – The most stupidly enjoyable all out action film since The Rock. The best of the trilogy, Great fun – 4/5
Rendition (1st view)– A bit simplistic at times but overall well worth viewing, with an excellent cast – 4/5
The Painted Veil (1st view)– Naomi watts and Edward Norton are both excellent, it looks gorgeous and the score is superb – 4/5
Serenity – My third viewing but only the first since I’ve seen the TV show Firefly. The film is still excellent, well-written and acted great effects and action scenes, but some of the dialogue is a complete contradiction to the TV show. A minor annoyance though – 4/5
Pathfinder (1st view)– It may well be crap, but it’s fun crap! – 4/5
Alpha Dog (1st view) – Better than I expected, with one genuinely shocking moment that completely threw me. Well acted for the most part, and it’s quite powerful at times.
Seven Swords (1st view)– Not bad, but very similar to many other Asian epics, all of which are better. The best thing was the score, which seems to be unavailable to buy – 3/5
Lady Vengeance (1st view) – Never quite as good as it should have been. Some amazing moments, a lovely score and a very good central performance make it worthwhile though – 3/5
Eastern Promises (1st view) – Viggo Mortensen is fantastic giving one of the most compelling performances I’ve seen in years. Naomi Watts isn’t bad either, and Armin Mueller- Stahl is perfect. A far Cronenberg film than his more outlandish films from the past, second only to A History Of Violence.
The Last King Of Scotland (1st view) – Forrest Whitaker steals the film but he’s backed up by a wonderful performance from James McAvoy. Some shocking and wonderfully tense scenes, but I was hoping for more information regarding Idi Amin himself and what he did once he was in power, of which we see and hear very little. A shame really, as this could have been given it that extra star – 4/5
Factory Girl (1st view) – Not bad, but not good either and after reading about the film since it seems a that a great deal was fictional. Biopics are all well and good but I get the feeling that Edie Sedgwick simply didn’t warrant one. Guy Pearce was very good though – 3/5
The Darwin Awards (1st view) – Utter dross. A possibly decent idea was just wasted, as was a reasonable cast. Not a single laugh in 96 minutes – 1/5

DAAF Woop, good to see I'm not the only one who didn't think it was as bad as the review suggested :D

Alan Tudyk was great tripping out but i was hoping to see Dinkage doing the same but that didn't really happen
Jareth- 11-04-2007

Eastern Promises (2007), David Cronenberg heads to the seedy and violent underworld of London, with midwife Anna (Naomi Watts), trying to find out the identity of a Russian girl who died in childbirth. She becomes involved with the Russian Mafia, run by Semyon (Armin Mueller-Stahl), with his son Kirill (Vincent Cassel), and in the background, their mysterious chauffeur Nikolai (Viggo Mortensen). An excellent and violent gangster film, with some typical Cronenberg hallmarks of identity and violence. And there is a lot of violence, from every barbers worse nightmare to a bath house fight where we also see Viggo's nice willy. :P 5/5
