Cheaper By The Dozen (1950, 1st view) - Pretty useless. One of those instances when I prefer the remake. Filled to the brim with toe-curlingly cutesey and annoying performances from the moppets, horribly trite dialogue and insanely melodramatic reactions to the sligh-*test*-('") problems. Not even Myrna Loy can help save the film and, as father of this tiring family, Clifton Webb creates a truly unlikeable character. None of this is really what you want in family comedy - 2/5
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (1st view) - I've never seen any of Cohen's characters before, either on the small or big screen. Clips I'd seen just left me cold, so I approached this with trepidation. Thankfully, I needn't have worried as the laughs started with the DVD menu page. Borat is a horrible character, but he's also terribly watchable, and there is a great car crash value to seeing how ordinary people react to him. It's like a cross between Monty Python, Jackass and Beadle's About. Very funy - 4/5
