Mamma Mia - Simply brilliant. Was expecting a fun film but what I got was a whole lot more, loved every single second of it and could happily have sat through it again straight away. Actually I can't wait to see it again. Apparently I didn't stop grinning all the way through it. Meryl Streep has an amazing voice, which really shouldn't come as a surprise as she's brilliant at everything else. All the cast were flawless (even Bronson's dodgy singing couldn't spoil this film!) but I left with an even deeper love for Stellan SkarsgÄrd than what I went in with! *wibble* Perfect film.

The Love Guru Its ok but generally a disappointment from Myers. The real of the show was Jacques Grande played Justin Timberlake who just impresses everytime I see him in a movie and Stephen Colbert as one of the Hockey Commentators. Overall Good fun but nothing special. 6/10 The X Files: I Want to Believe Not as bad as made out but a disappointment never the less but its more down to the fact it was more a thriller with the two leads from X files in it. Could of been so much more if they had a better story and hadn't been left so long. Gillian Anderson is still the star and is deserving of lot more great roles in movies.Overall a good solid thriller. 6/10

The Love Guru - Maybe it was because I wasn't expecting much, maybe it was because I saw it after yet another 6 day working week, but I kind of enjoyed it although I will never view Mariska Hargitay in the same way again! Mike Myers is obviously a popular man in Hollywood and has no problem in cashing in on his friendships for his movies... get Verne Troyer, check; get permission for Tom Cruise's image, check; get Cate Blanchett's Indy 4 voice coach, check... The movie itself contains enough toilet humour to keep me happy albeit it does overdo the grossness. References to both Wayne's World and Austin Powers are present but this really is one for hardcore Myers fans.

Despite the cover this is not a schlocky horror. The original, U.S., title is Wolfgirl which is infinitely better and more accurate. Tara Talbot is the wolfgirl (covered in hair from head to toe) in a travelling "freak show" run by Harley Dune (Tim Curry). She loves and is loved by her family in the show, but all she really wants is to be "normal". Then she meets a young man who tells her his scientist mother has a serum which could help remove the hair. All goes well until it becomes apparent that while the outward signs of the wolf are disappearing, Tara's bloodlust is increasing... An interesting drama about being different, I first saw this film about 4 years ago and forgot just how good it is. An unsung gem. 4/5

The Love Guru although I will never view Mariska Hargitay in the same way again! Why? I think she's cool...

The Love Guru although I will never view Mariska Hargitay in the same way again! Why? I think she's cool... Oh, she is! Have you seen it? They have a running joke with her name, that's all!

The X Files: I Want To Believe - I should first clarify I am not an X Files fan, I have seen perhaps five episodes and only one impressed me. I therefore, have no knowledge about the X Files universe or history. So it was with a blank slate I watched this (I even managed to miss the other movie) and as far as I'm concerned, this is a stand alone film in its own right. I thought it was allright but nothing special. I'm sure loads of references went right over my head and the post credits scene seemed silly to me. For non X Files fans like myself, it gets a thumbs up.

I like the sound of Blood moon and Tim Curry in it is a double interest.. To be honest this isn't something I would have chosen from the shelf but my brother handed it to me with recomendation from another so I gave it a view.. Hmm ! I just felt there was too much that wasn't important going on ie: the divorce case could have done without that. There was far too much emphasis on "how" instead of "why". The plot involving the daughter seemed a bit far fetched to me. I just couldn't adhere to the role Costner was portraying just didn't gel with me.. Can't give it anymore than a 2/5 *yawn*.. all so predictable and a very unsatisfactory ending..

The X-Files: I Want To Believe As has been said, it's okay but nothing brilliant. I think the problem that X-Files films will always have is that they seem like those double episode videos I used to buy years ago. The story was okay, it was almost The X-Files without being completely The X-Files but then you have to ask what are they going to do if they don't do aliens and conspiracy? I went in with an open mind and enjoyed it without being thrilled by it. 7/10 I'm sure loads of references went right over my head and the post credits scene seemed silly to me. Oh arse! You know what, I sat through half the credits trying to decide whether to wait til the very end end in case there was a post credits scene but eventually I decided to go because I didn't think there would be. What happens in the post credits scene, please tell me...

What happens in the post credits scene, please tell me... The post credits bit is bizarre as it just doesn't fit in with the characters. The credits are shots of land and sea being flown over by a helicopter. You then see a boat rowing towards a pacific looking island. The helicopter flys over and the camera looks down on it and its got Mulder rowing with Scully lying in a bikini. They then look up and wave. Can you really see Mulder and Scully taking a holiday like that? :-o

I know Mulder says that they'll get away just the two of them but, as you say, I don't see Mulder and Scully taking that kind of holiday. :?

Octopussy (1983), the title song of this James Bond film is 'All Time High', but alot of people call it an All Time Low for Bond. They're quite wrong. This has James Bond (Roger Moore), travelling to India and Germany to uncover a jewellry smuggling scam, led by Kamal Khan (Louis Jourdan), and General Orlov (Steven Berkoff), using a circus owned by the mysterious Octopussy (Maud Adams), as a cover for an atomic bomb to go off at a US Army base. It's the campest Bond film, and it's a little different, and the bits in India have a very colonial attitude to them!! But, it makes for good entertainment, for reference, this is the one with the microlite coming out of the horses arse in the horse box, and the Rickshaw chase. It's an underrated Bond film, give it a chance!! ;) 4/5

All this talk of the X-Files and I'm not even sure if I'll get to see it on the big screen.
