Awesome,Nic...Nice one...
"Take them to the tree!!"

I don't really recall much about this from the last time I watched it. Surprisingly disjointed, and not as great visually as Scott's previous and subsequent work. I'll be putting a full review in the Scott thread on Empire - this is like a sneak preview of a less-than-positive review when I get round to writing it! (A rarity, as Scott is one of my all-time favourite directors.)
Oh, it's not all that bad, Homer! Have you seen
Christopher Columbus: The Discovery? It came out around the same time as
1492. Now
that was a mess!
I'd have to agree with Aeon here,Homer...
It's not a masterpiece or anything but there are definitely moments of Scott genius liberally peppered throughout the movie...
And how can you not love Sigourney Weaver as Isabella?

Actually, I thought that was one of the worst casting decisions. As was Depardieu as Columbus. Don't get me wrong, I like Depardieu as an actor, but he works best in his native tongue.
There were definite moments of Scott visual beauty, but - to paraphrase a line from a better Scott film - they seemed to disappear like tears in the rain of the rest of the film.
I did see that other Columbus film back in '92 - I remember the 10/11 yr old Homer quite liked the bit on the island with all the naked native ladies :D
It's Ripley,dammit!!!!
She can be as crap as she likes...
Sunday

I've never seen it before and it gets a solid 10/10 from me!
Yay, finally! Glad you loved it, I've seen so many times and I still hope Elsa stays behind when I see it!
Screamy's seeing it very soon...
